DRUG CHARGES LAID AFTER SEARCH

An individual in London, Canada known to supply the horse racing industry with drugs, has been taken out of business.
All thanks due to a co-ordinated effort of the Ontario Provincial Police – Illegal Gambling Unit, the Ontario Racing Commission – Investigative Unit, the London Police Service and the Standardbred Investigation Services, based out of the United States with the assistance of Health Canada.
On Friday (October 29), a search warrant for steroids and other illegal drugs was executed under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act and the Food and Drug Act on a residence located on Colonel Talbot Road in London.
Large quantities of steroids and adulterated unlabelled and/or violative drugs were seized during the execution of the search warrant by authorities.
Fred Rogers, 51, has been charged with two counts under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act and one count under the Food and Drug Act. He will appear in Provincial Court on Wednesday, November 3, 2004.
