AP
CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa A 31-year-old Mason City man has been sentenced to two years, seven months in federal prison on his guilty plea to selling steroids to bodybuilders. B.J. Stevens was sentenced in U.S. District Court yesterday (Thursday). He pleaded guilty last May to distribution of anabolic steroids, conspiracy to distribute human growth hormone, distribution of misbranded drugs and money laundering. [ErGs] As part of the plea agreement, Stevens forfeited 108-thousand dollars in cash, a house worth about 175-thousand dollars and other property bought with profits from the steroids. U.S. Attorney Charles W. Larson Senior says the case was part of a larger investigation that thus far has resulted in the conviction of a dozen defendants. He says members of the conspiracy distributed human growth hormone for illegal bodybuilding uses to customers across the U.S. and in several other countries. |
