0 4 - 0 8 - 2 0 0 5 Man charged with steroid possession
APP.COM BERKELEY: Police charged a 36-year-old township man with possession of anabolic steroids and intent to distribute steroids, police said Tuesday. Detectives also seized 16,000 units of anabolic steroids worth an estimated $17,000 on Thursday, according to authorities. The man, who was unnamed for investigative reasons, was arrested at his home in the Bayville section after picking up a package. Police said the steroids came from the United Kingdom and based on information from the suspect, an elaborate system of ordering and mailing is used to get the product into the United States. Police said the confiscated package was tracked to the People's Republic of China. The investigation began after information was obtained by Officer Steve Selby on a routine patrol call. Detectives Phil Smith, Brian Woermer, Jim Smit and Joseph Robertzzi staked out the home and made the arrest. |
