Man faces steroid charges
Rob Gavin SCHENECTADY -- Investigators have arrested a 39-year-old city man on steroid charges -- and said he recklessly sold the drugs under a phony label. Police said Eric L. Rosa of 217 Jackson Ave. sold an anabolic steroid that he labeled with the name of a fictitious laboratory. The drug was not approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, nor manufactured in a sterile or proper way and created "a grave risk of serious injury or death when injected," city police said. Rosa was arrested Monday in his home after a one-month probe by the Schenectady Police Department's Vice Squad and the state Bureau of Narcotics Enforcement. Investigators said they seized anabolic steroids from Rosa's home in the form of liquid, pills and cream. They also found $4,683 in cash and a computer, police said. Rosa was charged with first-degree reckless endangerment and with selling and possessing drugs. He was arraigned and is being held in Schenectady County jail without bail. |
