Charges are expected to be filed Tuesday against a 30-year-old parolee allegedly found with injectable steroids after being stopped by an officer for speeding in excess of 100 mph and shoving that Murrieta officer. Tad Wynn Stringman of Murrieta was arrested Saturday and booked into the Southwest Detention Center in French Valley. He was held without bail on suspicion of possessing and transporting a controlled substance, possessing narcotics, obstructing and resisting arrest and committing battery on a peace officer. Police Cpl. Steve Lang stopped Stringman after 9 a.m. Saturday on the Winchester Road offramp from southbound Interstate 15. The officer saw the rider splitting traffic and traveling in excess of 100 mph. The 6-foot, 3-inch, 230-pound man allegedly pushed officer Lang away during a pat search and tried to get back onto his motorcycle, at which point Lang pepper-sprayed him. The man allegedly shoved the officer again, ran down an embankment and elbowed Lang to get away. Workers at nearby Rancho Car Wash helped stop the man on Jefferson Avenue, north of Winchester Road. Officers found 15 bottles of injectable steroids on the suspect, who happened to be on state and federal parole. [Link]
