Police issue warning about illegal steroids
REGINA
Regina City Police are warning people who bought illegal steroids recently that their health could be in danger.
Police spokesperson Elizabeth Popowich says they have cracked an international steroid ring operating in the city.
Five people have been charged with possession of steroids for the purpose of trafficking.
Police allege the group was bringing in testosterone from China and repackaging it in steroid bottles with fake labels.
"There's no quality control that goes on here so you really don't know what sort of a product you're purchasing and what the effect may be," says Popowich.
"It would be very, very easy to make a mistake."
Popowich says it is the largest steroid bust in recent memory in Regina.
