0 7 - 0 5 - 2 0 0 5 Tucson man convicted of distributing steroids around the country
KVOA.com A Tucson man has been convicted of 73 felony counts in connection with a massive steroid distribution operation. Aaron Habben, age 30, was bringing in steroids from China and distributing them around the country. "He had customers in 47 states and in the District of Columbia," says U.S. Attorney Serra Tsethlikai, who helped prosecute Habben. Habben was having the steroids sent from China to two separate shipping stores in Oro Valley where he had personal mail boxes. Authorities caught onto Habben when customs inspected one of the packages. Federal agents later raided his Oro Valley home, and found thousands of anabolic steroid pills, 15 false identification cards, overseas bank account receipts, and $64,000 in cash, which Habben tried to bribe agents with. Habben was booked into Florence Prison, where he remains, but even during his incarceration, the Department of Justice says Habben was using his mother and ex-girlfriend in Nebraska to conduct illegal transactions for him. "Aaron Habben was directing them to put the money in stock options and trading houses," Tsethlikai says. Habben will be sentenced in December. He faces more than 10 years in prison but Habben's attorney says he will appeal the conviction. 2 8 - 0 1 - 2 0 0 6 Man gets 10 years in prison for steroid sales, bribery try
