2 7 - 0 9 - 2 0 0 5 Restaurant Owner Arrested For Selling Steroids To Customers
AP PALM BAY, Fla. -- A Brevard County restaurant owner was arrest for what he police said he was selling to some of his customers. Palm Bay police said the restaurant was serving steroids in addition to the other items on the menu. Police said Alex Rosado, 37, was selling more than just Cuban food at his Green Banana Cuban Cafe. Above the refrigerator in his restaurant he kept a to-go box with hundreds of steroids pills that he was accused of selling to bodybuilders in Brevard County. Police arrested Rosado after an investigation that took several months to complete. He was booked on charges of possession of steroids and one count of the sale of steroids. Police began investigating Rosado after a confidential informant told them he was selling the illegal drugs from the restaurant. Working with undercover officers, the informant purchased steroids from Rosado. Police said the word got around the bodybuilding community that the cafe was the place to go. After getting a warrant, police seized approximately $1,300 worth of a variety of drugs, including 13 different bottles of three different types of performance-enhancing drugs. Rosado's business was closed Monday. Rosado was released from jail on $1,000 bond. |
